Ask a Question
  • Do you do international shipping on the power planer? If so, how much is the shipping fee?

Yes we can ship the surfboard shaping power planer to you. International shipping costs are calculated in the webstore's checkout.

  • You mention polyurethane blanks specifically, does it work equally well with EPS blanks?

This surfboard shaping power planer can be used with Polyurethane and EPS foam blanks. The dual blades cut EPS foam smooth and minimizes bead tear-out.

  • This looks just like my modified Wen Planer. Is it a different model? Is it modified (on the fly adj, etc)?

This surfboard shaping planer is not modified. Modifications are not worth the extra expense in our opinion.

  • I'm a beginning shaper and there is so much information about what type of planer you should use. Would this be a good one to use as a beginner?

This is an excellent and affordable planer to shape with even for a pro. It's the same power and blades as more expensive planers it just doesn't have the "on the fly" depth cut adjustment. But that takes time to master and can screw up boards if not done right.    We recommend with this planer to cut your rail bands and stop about 10" from the nose and tail as to not thin them too much, you can use a hard block or rasp to extend them to the nose and tail. Here is a quick tutorial on how to use a planer correctly :

  • how wide is this planer

The cutting width of the planer is 3 1/2"
