Epoxy Resin Pigment - Carbon Black

Regular price $ 15.26

Greenlight's new line of Premier Resin Tints and Pigments are highly concentrated colorants specially designed for use with epoxy resin as well as polyester and vinylester resins for coloring surfboard, wakesurf, kitesurf, and Stand Up Paddleboard laminations, hotcoats, and foam stains.

The Premier resin pigments and tints are formulated for a strong chemical bond to epoxy resin and exhibit even color saturation with minimal amount of color added. These pigments are potent!

These Premier Pigments can also be worked as transparent tints if only a single drop or two is added to your resin mixture. Additional drops will increase the opacity and quickly saturate the resin into a deep, dark color. Lots of different looks can be achieved with these Premier Pigments.

2 oz. bottles come with snap cap lid for clean and easy pigment dispensing.

  • I'd like to lam a 9'6" longboard opaque black. I'm using Resin Research Quick Kick Epoxy with two layers of 6oz glass on deck and bottom. How much of this pigment do I need for this to come out fully opaque. Thanks!

  • Can I mix this into poly resin?? I know it says it's "epoxy resin pigment" but does it still work with poly resin??

Yes the epoxy pigments work just as well in polyester resin

  • Hello, I'm considering attempting to repair scratches on factory painted and baked, carbon fiber bicycle rims. I've been told various coloring agents can negatively impact the resilience/strength of carbon fiber. Can your "Epoxy Resin Pigment - Carbon Black" be used to mask wet-sanded dings & scratches without creating a negative impact? Thanks for your help.

We recommend using these resin pigments at a ratio of 2% to your total volume of resin. There will be no issues in resin strength or curing and you will have full color saturation. Typically when exceeding 5% pigment to resin ratio is when you start to see problems with the resin curing.
