I'm looking at the X2 install manual from FCS and they specify using a the boring bit with steel tube and H-pattern tool after using the this holesaw. I don't see the boring bit/steel tube/H-pattern tool for sale on Greenlight or in the Greenlight X2 install instructions. Are the extra drilling steps with the boring bit/steel tube/H--pattern unnecessary? Will simply drilling once with the holesaw provide adequate strength for the box even if there aren't the "H" pattern holes that go up to the deck? Thanks!
We have found through 15+ years of installing and fixing boards with X-2 or Factory style plugs that they can be installed without the H pattern tool and they have pleanty of strength and hold up over time.
Does this drill bit also work for installing a Factory surfboard leash plug?
Yes the FCS X-2 Hole saw bit works for both FCS and FACTORY brand fin plugs
